Donor Information
Funding
St. Luke’s Free Medical Clinic is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization; all donations are tax deductable. St. Luke’s receives no direct funding from any government source. It relies on donations, grants, and the community at large to meet an annual operating budget of $589,000. On this budget, over 6 million dollars of medical care is provided. We are very proud of recognition received by the SC Secretary of State by being chosen for the “Angel’s List,” commending our Clinic for the allocation and use of funds.
When a donation is made to the clinic, we send a letter of acknowledgement to the donor as soon as possible. We also notify any person(s) honored or commemorated without mention of the monetary value of the donation.
Donation and Acceptance of Certain Medical Goods
The Clinic accepts donations of certain medical items and goods needed for Clinic operations. Controlled medications are not acceptable. Contributions are deductible for income tax purposes to the extent allowed by law.
Donors who will require St. Luke’s to execute an IRS Form 8283—“Non-cash Charitable Contribution”—will need to complete that form at the time of the donation. The Online Donor Receipt Form, including IRS form 8283, populates and calculates automatically.
Our PDF Valuation Guide helps you determine values of acceptable goods needed for clinic operations.
